So.. Do I need to register just to attend the auction?
Auctions are open to everyone, so you don’t need special permission to attend. If there are more buyers than the auctioneer expected, they may ask that priority be given to those who wish to bid.
Potential buyers and sellers often come to an auction to find out how it works and decide if it’s the right method for them. The auction team can answer any questions before, during or after the sale.
Do I need to pre-register to bid?
Some auction rooms require pre-registration from all bidders and may ask which properties you’re hoping to bid on. You don’t have to register in advance, you can just show up at the venue.
Make sure you arrive 30-45 minutes before the auction starts so you have time to register.
Registration Process of Some Online Auctions
When the online catalogue is released you can:
- Select the lot(s) you wish to bid on.
- Choose your bidding method (applicable to in-room and live-streamed auctions only).
- Provide your bidder and buyer details including name, email and address (if different).
- Enter the details of your solicitor.
From six days prior to auction you can complete the remainder of your registration:
- Review, accept, and arrange for bidder security by the FAQs.
- Complete certified ID verification checks for the bidder and, if applicable, the buyer.
Important - If bidding at an online only auction you will need to sign up to our online bidding platform prior to auction day:
- Once you complete registration, you will receive an email from Allsop with the final instructions and details for registering on our online bidding platform.
- When your online bidding platform account has been approved, you will be able to start bidding when the auction begins.
- Please note that each auction has its approval process, so you need to register for each one.
Registration deadline
It is highly recommended that you register at least 24 hours before the auction. They cannot be held liable for any difficulties experienced due to late registrations.
